Respect In Sport Parent Program

Important Information

All player registrations through Darlington will be required to take the Respect In Sport Parent Program prior to registration. Parents/Guardians will be asked for their certification number at the time of registration online. The certification takes approx. 1 hours to 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete.

The Respect In Sport Parent Program is a one-hour online module for parents/guardians, reinforcing their role in their child’s activities, encouraging positive sport behaviors, and providing insight into the various roles other individuals play, such as coaches and officials. This program empowers parents to ensure the safety of their children, encourage positive and effective communication, and to enhance a child's overall enjoyment of soccer. The online course costs $12.00 and is transferable to other sports involved in Respect in Sport. Only one parent/guardian per family is required to attain the certification (if a family has more than one child participating, that parent can use their certification for each child).

The Respect In Sport Parent Program is the exact same certification implemented by the Ontario Minor Hockey Association and is directly transferable to soccer. If you have already taken the program for the OMHA it can simply be ported over to the Ontario Soccer Association database on the link below. Please note that it is only the Parent Program that will be accepted. Not the Activity Leader/Coach Program.

Parents with players in U19 & U21 are not required to take Respect in Sport as these are considered Adult Leagues.
