Important Referee Information

Please do not register for any course through Ontario soccer on Refcentre.com unless you have been confirmed to do so by our Head Referees.

Referee 7v7- February 29th Deadline

As of February 29th, 2024 at midnight, applications for small-sided 7vs7 referees is closed for 2024. We will not be accepting any more small-sided referee applications due to the large number of applicants.

Match Officials (Referees)

How do I become a Referee with Darlington and/or a OSA Certified Referee?

If you wish to become a referee with Darlington Soccer Club, you must be selected by submitting an application before the Outdoor season. Referees will have to attend a referee certification course prior to the season. Please see the Ontario Soccer Match Official page by clicking here for more information.

If I apply to be come a Referee with Darlington am I guaranteed to be one?

No. There is a specific demand for Referees every year and the Club is unable to accept all applicants.

How old do you have to be to apply for a position and referee certification course?

To be eligible for the Small-Sided Certification Course, applicants must be 12 years of age by March 31st, 2024. This is for the 7v7 format on mini fields.

To be eligible for the Entry Level Certification Course, applicants must be 14 years of age by March 31st, 2024. This is for the 11v11 format on full size fields.

Do I require experience to apply to become a Referee?

No experience is required to become a Referee with Darlington.

Where can I find an application form?

For a Referee Application Form, please see the PDF at the top right of the page. Once completed, they can be sent electronically to darlingtonsoccer@rogers.com or dropped off to our office during regular office hours. Please be sure to highlight or bold the Community you want to referee in. Highlight only one or two communities.

When are the Referee Certification Clinics for referees set for Outdoor 2024?

Darlington will be not be hosting any courses for 2024, however, you can search for other courses in the Durham Region area to earn your certification to referee with the Club.

To register, go to refcentre.com/ontario. Please do not register for these courses unless a Community has accepted you as a Referee. 

Please do not register for a course unless you have been accepted and confirmed to referee with Darlington (submit an application form first and get confirmation).
