About Darlington Soccer Club Inc.

Darlington Soccer Club Inc. is a recognized and licensed club by the Ontario Soccer Association (OSA), providing structured recreational and competitive programs to the residents of Clarington along with providing camps, clinics and indoor programs to further athletic and personal development.

Developmental Philosophy

Darlington Soccer Club Inc. subscribes to the Ontario Soccer Association’s Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) practice; a standardized, developed and practical philosophy to ensure the best possible athletic, emotional, tactical and skill development of youth soccer players and coaches in Ontario for both recreational and representative competitive streams.

Governing Bodies

Darlington Soccer Club reports to the regional governing body called the Durham Region Soccer Association, which in turn reports to our provincial governing body,  the Ontario Soccer Association. The OSA then falls under our national governing body called the Canadian Soccer Association. The CSA then subscribes to be a member of FIFA which controls and regulates the game globally.

Club History

Soccer in present day Clarington has existed in various forms and variants across a network of vibrant communities and townships with its first documented recording as far back as 1862. Darlington Soccer Club Inc. traces its roots to the foundation of the Darlington Soccer League founded in 1880; which is argued to be the oldest in Canada.
